So before we dive in, let’s settle on what we call it.
I’ll refer to this collection of lymphatic techniques as Lymphatic Facilitation, or just LF. You can learn more about lymphatic massage terms here.
Lymph Massage, Lymphatic Massage, Lymph or Lymphatic Drainage, Lymph Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapy… they’re all different terms for (mostly) the same thing – a manual therapy (hands on) performed with the specific intention of enhancing lymphatic flow.
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) are not the same (they are higher level) as the techniques just mentioned. See here to find out the difference.
